The application for Round 1 of grants from united way is April 25, 2020 – To apply, an organization must provide direct response, recovery, or rebuilding to those affected by COVID-19 and be classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3), public charity
The majority of the funds are designated for nonprofit organizations serving Pueblo County. However, limited funds are also available for nonprofit organizations in Alamosa, Baca, Bent, Chaffee, Conejos, Costilla, Crowley, Custer, Fremont, Huerfano, Kiowa, Las Animas, Mineral, Otero, Prowers, Rio Grande, and Saguache counties.
The maximum Request is $10,000.
Round 1: Immediate Response: The focus for Round 1 is supporting organizations providing direct services to mitigate the negative impacts of COVID-19 (examples include but are not limited to health care/ mental health providers, senior service providers, food banks, housing service providers, workforce development centers) and those who are leading a coordinated community response to the impacts of COVID-19. • Application Opens: April 12, 2020• Application Closes: April 25 at 11:59pm• Fund Distribution: May 4 – May 8
Mid to Long Term Recovery: Support for nonprofits who may not be providing direct services but have been negatively impacted due to suspended programming, canceled fundraising events and/or shrinking or lack of resources to continue their work during this period of social isolation. Focus on providing both immediate crisis relief and support to agencies indirectly impacted.
