Locals describe this place as the “best under-known” restaurant in the Pueblo area. Restaurant 8A (Ocho-A in Spanish), located in the County next to the Mesa Drive-Inn, is an authentic Mexican family place, with home cooked food and low prices.
They serve a nice selection of great favorite Mexican eats, with some unique items as well, including this Tilapia entree that the restaurant featured on Facebook:”Love it dearlyAfter a long day at work, come enjoy our yummy Tilapia which includes rice, beans, tortillas and a salad.”
Or in Spanish, “Despues de un dia largo en el trabajo. Un pescadito todo para saborear. Mojarra Tilapia con arroz, frijoles, tortillas y ensalada.”
Locals rave about the made fresh daily chips and salsa at this little hole in the wall, that are always free and “addictive,” as well as their tamales. One reviewer said, “Their food is so delicious, you crave it when not there, and one of the few placed in town that is still affordable.”
Another loyal customer raved, “Best under-known home style Mexican in Pueblo. Great place, great food, great service, and very reasonably priced, all in one little unassuming hole in a tiny stripmall next to the Mesa Drive-Inn. No, you won’t find a margarita or fancy burrito bowl here, but a nice moderate selection of great favorite Mexican eats. Salsa & chips always free, & chips are made in-house, mmmm. “
If you are out and about, you might try this family owned hole-in-the-wall, if reviewers are right it’s worth a stop.
