Story by Jenny Paulson – After some amazing photos of cakes come through my Facebook feed from A Sweet Life Bake Shop, I wanted to know more about who ran this busy little independent bakery in the County that recently posted “booked until August.”
Jayme quickly messaged me back and said she runs her small bakery out of the kitchen that used to be a small restaurant at her family’s DiSanti Farms, which has been farming in the County since 1890. She’s taking orders for August on for weddings and special occasion cakes, but you’ll be able to buy some of her famous cookies, cakes and cannoli at their farmers market starting in July when the farm gets busier with fresh produce sales.
She told me she self taught herself how to bake custom cakes, cookies and pastries from youtube and pin interest instructionals, then started her bake shop business four years ago. She’s become so popular that she can’t keep up with the demand as she bakes everything herself. She is married to Dominic, together photographed here (along with a photo of their extended DiSanti family without some of the kids in this photo).
The farm is now open for business with a farmer’s market where you can buy home grown produce and of course their famous chile, roasted on site during Chile season in September and October. They also sell flowers and vegetable plants, grown from their greenhouse.
Rather than having a restaurant at the kitchen as in the past, the farm now has local food trucks come and serve food during their busy seasonCheck out some photos I found on her facebook page of some of her amazing baked goods – she’s turned baking into art!
