Pueblo Man Killed and Two Others From Pueblo Injured in Wreck Near Texline

This according to ABC News/Amarillo, TX – April 14, 2020 – “A 57-year-old man is dead and his two passengers are in the hospital after a wreck early Tuesday morning in Dallam County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Kirk McAlister of Pueblo, Colo. was driving in slick conditions on US-87 about four miles southeast of Texline around 2:45 a.m.

Authorities believe the driver hit a patch of ice on a bridge and lost control. His SUV then slid past the bridge, and into the oncoming lanes before hitting a guardrail and rolling.

Kirk McAlister died at the scene.
His passengers, 52-year-old Anne McAlister and 20-year-old Dezerai Maul, both also of Pueblo, were taken to the Coon Memorial Hospital in Dalhart.”

His daughter, Jeana McAlister posted on her Facebook page, saying that her mom and the other passenger are recovering well: “Yes this is real… My parents, and Dez were in an accident, this morning. My mom and Dez are alright as can be. But most unfortunately we lost our dad. Here is the details if you want to know…” with a link to a press release.

Pueblo resident Kevin EL Howard posted on a family Facebook page, “Kirk McAlister Sr was a Good Man. If He was able to Help someone he would. He was a Gentle, Fun, Loving, Hilarious, Helpful, Hardworking Man. This list doesn’t even begin to Describe the Qualities this Man Possessed. He was like a Second Father to Us & We are Saddened by His Passing…”
