Story by Jenny Paulson – June 7th is International Donut Day and we have gathered a list of where you can go for fresh donuts in Pueblo, Pueblo West and the County. SCHUSTER’S BANQUET BAKERY at 115 E Abriendo Avenue, is a Pueblo old fashioned, locally owned staple bake shop for donuts. But this bakery that’s been around for decades serves more than donuts, they make fresh freshly baked items daily including pastries, cream puffs, cookies, cup cakes, brownies, banana and other breads, pies, custom cakes (including their famous orange chiffon) and other treats galore.
KWANS KITCHEN, located at 750 Desert Flower Blvd in Belmont also serves donuts from their authentic Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese restaurant. Their donuts are made in house daily and can be bought through their drive-thru or inside.
DONUT OVEN, located at 198 S Purcell Blvd, in Pueblo West is a family owned shop that locals rave about. They have a great variety of donuts to choose from, including their exclusive Pueblo Green Chile Donuts. They also serve teas and coffees, breakfast (including breakfast burritos) and lunch.
BEST DONUTS at 394 S Joe Martinez Blvd, Pueblo West, is a family operation that sells donuts and other sweets. They have a glazed donut that is similar to the one made by Krispy Cream and a blueberry donut that locals rave about.
DUNKIN’ – Located at 3991 Elizabeth Street, on the North Side of Pueblo. Formerly Dunkin’ Donuts, this store has been re-branded nationally as Dunkin. It’s a long-running chain serving signature donuts, breakfast sandwiches & a variety of coffee drinks.
